Essential oils have been used for centuries to clear both air and mind. The discovery of the powerful benefit began with the burning of wood and it’s resins. Today we have a whole industry focused on producing essential oils for therapeutic use. Although I do not sell or promote a specific oil brand at this time, I do enjoy using oils personally and professionally.
As a holistic health practitioner, it is very important for me to have my environment clear in order to clear my mind, body, and spirit. Overtime I have established a liking for Palo Santo, or Holy Wood, in my cleansing routines. Unfortunately, Palo Santo has become too expensive for me to use as frequently as I would like. In search of a replacement to my Sacred Holy Wood, I found and fell in love with Texas Cedarwood Essential Oil by Aura Cacia.
I would normally purchase from doTerra but because of financial restrictions and impatience, I opted for Aura Cacia from Dean’s Natural Food Market. One X oz bottle was under $5, very affordable for my budget. With that being said, I only use Aura Cacia oils in the diffuser, and never on my skin. Regardless of the application process, Texas Cedarwood Oil has an amazing scent that will strengthen the mind-body connection.

Texas Cedarwood Oil is made from steam distillation of wood. This is Earthy scent is extremely beneficial to the root chakra while positively penetrating the individuals environment, mind, body, and spirit. Through balancing the root chakra, one will establish a safety in the present, allowing them to grow into their own values, and ultimately their own self. The smoky scent that resonates with Cedarwood serves as a reminder to let go of what does not serve your higher purpose. When using Cedarwood Oil, imagine the negative being transformed into what will now strengthen you as you grow into your own.
Cedarwood Oil is an excellent way to get the fire element into your healing routine without needing actual flames. This is good for people who can not light candles or are worried about the smoke build up from sage or palo santo.
8 reasons to start using cedarwood oil
The antiseptic properties of Cedarwood Oil helps to fight disease causing microorganisms. This is one reason Cedarwood has been burned for years, in order to purify the individual and the environment. Similarly, this is why I choose to purify my surroundings with Cedarwood Oil before practicing energy work.
Cedarwood Oil is beneficial in fighting certain skin conditions causing redness and dandruff. A few drops of high quality Cedarwood Oil in your moisturizer or conditioner will help to reduce skin irritation.
As an astringent, Cedarwood Oil helps to cause constriction of body tissue, specifically the skin. This is even more of a reason to start adding high quality Cedarwood Oil to your skin care routine. Whether you make your own skin care products or buy from the store, make sure you start to implement Cedarwood into the mix.
The diuretic properties of Cedarwood helps to produce more urine in order to expel excess from kidneys. One way to directly introduce these benefits into the body, invest in a high quality Cedarwood Oil, mix with a carrier oil, and massage gently onto your lower belly. The gentle massage mixed with the healing properties of the oil will promote kidney functioning and thus the expulsion of excess in the body.
This one is for the ladies. Cedarwood Oil helps to promote menstruation. As you will see in a minute, it also produces calm. Therefore, Cedarwood Oil is an excellent addition to any woman’s PMS emergency kit.
Cedarwood Oil helps to loosen mucous, thus acting as cough relief. This can be achieved through inhaling the oil in the form of diffuser or bath. If you are going introduce Cedarwood Oil to the skin, I suggest investing in higher quality product such as doTerra or Young Living.
Wonder why sitting around a campfire is so calming and relaxing? It is because of the sedative properties released from trees that promote calmness. Cedarwood is one of the best woods to burn for this, but other types of woods are optional.
Speaking of sitting around a campfire. Ever wonder why the bugs stay away? This is because Cedarwood Oil is a natural insecticide that helps to kill and keep insects away. Looking for a “Moth Ball” alternative? Try Cedarwood Oil.
I am not affiliated with doTerra or Aura Cacia. I am simply a holistic health professional seeking to educate and inform others on the health and healing benefits associated with alternative methods.
My suggestions here should only be used in addition to regular Doctor's orders.
If you would like to purchase doTerra or if you have any questions, please contact my rep, Katie Stepikura. She is also my cousin, so obviously keeping it in the family ;) The family that heals together - stays together <3
