Use this week to prepare for next Monday's Full Moon in Aquarius.
Whether you feel the emotional, mental, physical, or spiritual effects of the Moon phases and accompanying astrological signs, the influence is there.
Each moon phase and each astrological sign have certain characteristics that impact the energies in and around us. This lunar effect is recognized by hunters and fishermen as well as everyday people like myself.
As a holistic health educator I like to inform people about new things that can benefit their health and wellness. Moon phase information is important for me to share because my understanding to these energies has greatly benefited my health and wellness, physically, mentally, and emotionally. I feel that others can use the knowledge of moon phase information to make small but meaningful changes to their lifestyles.
Yesterday (Sunday July 30), the Moon entered the First Quarter in Scorpio. If you were out enjoying the beautiful day (in New Jersey), you may have noticed the moon rose about 6 hours after the sun, so just around noon. The Moon will be in Waxing Gibbous as visibility grows throughout the rest of the week.
The First Quarter Moon in Scorpio forces you to ask yourself the question: What Are My Motives?
With the fear of rejection at the center of Scorpio character traits, it is important to show yourself inner love today ( Monday ). Also consider taking the necessary actions to invoke growth in new areas of your life.
We begin the month of August with the Sun in Leo and Moon in Sagittarius. The sun will remain in Leo throughout the month but the Moon will only be in Sagittarius temporarily.
The Farmer's Almanac suggests using the Moon in Sagittarius to weed, plow, or prune your garden. You can translate this advice into your life by weeding out things in your life that are no good for you.
The Waxing Gibbous phase helps us to refine, observe, and balance whatever it is we are manifesting. Similar to how it is a great time to perfect the nature around us, it is a great time to perfect and nurture ourselves.
With Moon energies increasing throughout the week, it is important to take the time to show yourself some love and self-care. Get outside, whether it be to tend to your garden, to build a garden, or to walk in a garden, get outside! If you find that your sciatic nerve and thighs bother you, spend some time in a field or the ocean. If getting outside is an issue for you, try spraying some rose hip oil or using cinnamon while cooking.
The three days leading up to the Full Moon are very important for cultivating and building the momentum to grow.
From Thursday to Saturday, the Moon will be in Capricorn.
Capricorn Moon characteristics follow the same waxing gibbous theme of discipline, balance, and structure. Similarly, the waxing gibbous stage is known as the development stage. In the developmental stage it is ideal to build the momentum to prepare for growth while you cultivate, refine, and observe what you have been doing already.
If you have an idea or goal, do not let this time pass without doing something proactive about it.
Full Moon energies may be a lot for one to handle, therefore I suggest preparing for the Full Moon by journaling, participating in ceremonies, recharging in moonlight, etc.
The moon will enter into Aquarius on Sunday and become it's Fullest on Monday August 7. The moon energy will slowly start to decrease as the moon diminishes in size. Once this happens, begin to let go of what no longer serves you. The changing moon will take from you whatever you need to release. The Full Moon is not necessarily about letting go and cleansing, but I recommend using the lunar energies as a source of release.
I do use the Full Moon to reflect on past intentions and how they correlate with my growth. I like to use this time to see how I have transformed and will continue to transform in the future. The Full Moon (and New Moon) are very selfish times for me because I spend a lot of time by myself (with my crystals). If you are interested in doing the same, use the weekend to recharge in the moonlight. Whether it be with a bonfire, watching fireworks, camping, etc., just get outside and spend time AWAY FROM MAN MADE ELECTRICITY** and near the moon. This goes for your crystals, oracle cards, and any tools you may use in your energy healing.
Purifying yourself, your space, and your tools with high quality essential oils is highly recommended during this time. Diffusers work great for this purpose.
(**Man mad electricity, power lines, lights, etc. make it more difficult for us to benefit from lunar energy.. In fact, I feel that man mad energy and electricity we commonly surround ourselves with our devastating to our overall health, but especially energetic health.**)
Aquarius characteristics center around personal freedom, liberation, breaking free of habits, individuality, etc.
Have you been seeking an individuality driven transformation but do not know where to start? The Full Moon in Aquarius can help.
Aquarius energies bring about the breaking free from uniformity and incorporating changes to things that do not work. If you have been trying to do SOMETHING but need a little push, the energies from the moon in Aquarius is here now to give you that push.
The reason I like to give people at least a week to prepare for the Full Moon is because you can benefit greatly by using the Moon energies for your self-healing. If you do not have enough time to really assess what you want for this moon and how you can use it's specific characteristics to your benefit, you may not get the most out of it's presence.

As I try to perfect my ice pop recipes, finding the best mold has been top priority for me. In order to find the best, I tested out four different BPA Free molds. Below are the links to the molds I tried, in order from my favorite to least favorite. Further down is my review of each mold.
Important things I looked for when shopping: BPA Free, Simple, Size, Price.
You can get molds in a variety of shapes and sizes. I had to remind myself that buying Tiki Men Molds would not be as cost effective as buying another option. (Link to Tiki Men Molds here)
For $11, you get six molds, sticks, and a stand. The stand is very useful in transport to the freezer and does not take up a lot of space while freezing
I found these to be the cleanest to work with. In other words, I did not find myself spilling or over flowing when filling the molds or inserting the sticks.
I use these for smoothie pops. Although they are slightly larger than my normal smoothie batch, adding a little extra coconut milk and banana to my mixture seems to solve that.
I am not sure about the maximum liquid content per mold but I would say these six molds will produce the most frozen popsicles.
Lastly, I have not had issue with liquid dripping down the stick, turning everything sticky. This did happen with the final mold below.
My second favorite molds were purchased from the Bed, Bath, and Beyond store. I have provided the link above so you can see exactly which product I purchased. You can also search the site to see if they have any in stock at your local BB&B. (Sidenote: Did you know Bed, Bath, and Beyond coupons NEVER EXPIRE??? That's right....So take that 20% off coupon and buy yourself some popsicle molds)
For $10 you get four molds, sticks, and a stand. Similar to the Lebice review above, the stand is very useful. The molds individually are slightly larger than the Lebice molds but you only get four (4) so overall product content will be slightly less than the popsicles above.
I really like these double stick molds. The sticks themselves detach, so you get two pops in one mold. This is great if you want to share or if you want to savor the taste.
These are also very clean to work with as long as you do not overfill the molds with liquid.
My third favorite popsicle molds are the Zoku Rectangle Popsicle Molds. The link above brings you to the orange color but they also sell in green, which is what I have.
For $13 you get 6 molds, sticks ,and a base. I would say they are slightly smaller in size than the Lebice and more basic. The Lebice molds have a fork-like indent in them that gives a nice texture to the pop. The texture of these is very similar to an ice-pop.
I am not crazy about the base that comes with these molds. First, I overflowed a few of the molds upon inserting the stick and then made a mess as I tried carrying the base to the freezer. Liquid got in my freezer before they froze and the sticks were sticky when I took them out the next day. I will try again with these molds by using less liquid.
I ordered these silicone molds from Amazon. For $15 you get (2) two sets of (2) silicone mold base, sticks, and cover. Four in total.
I had high expectations for these, plus they are considerably smaller than the other sets, so I doubled the order to get 8 molds in total.
I really like that they are made from silicone and that the size of the silicone base wouldn't take up a lot of space in the freezer. These also had the best ratings on Amazon.
Unfortunately my experience using these molds was a mess. I do not feel that the stick penetrates into the liquid enough, making freezing inconsistent. Adding more liquid to cover the whole stick just makes a mess that will worsen upon transport to freezer.
I have not tried alternative techniques to make these molds work, I have just used other molds.
Have a favorite popiscle mold you think I should try or review?
