On Friday December 25, 2015 we will be in the Full Moon Phase.

Crystal Suggestion: Moonstone

During the height of the Full Moon it is recommended to focus on spiritual growth and personal development.  One important way to prepare for this growth and development is through releasing all that no longer serves you.  
If you are reading this on Wednesday or Thursday, make a plan now to take advantage of the Full Moon energy starting Thursday morning and lasting through Saturday.  


Full Moon energy serves to help purge, caste  out, unburden, purify, tie up ends and/or end a chapter.  It is also a good time to protect, especially yourself, so do not forget your grounding stones.  My favorite grounding stones are smoky quartz, black tourmaline, and hematite.  I have two black tourmaline necklaces that come with me pretty much everywhere even if not on my neck.  My smoky quartz and hematite are normally in my pocket but often times in my bra!  I also put them around any technology I use, like computers while at work, and my cell phone while in meditation.  Come the New Year I plan to have more details about my personal crystals and crystals I have for sale up on the site so be sure to check back for that.  There are sure to be free giveaways for my followers!

I feel that this Full Moon is the most important because it helps to purge out what is unwanted for the upcoming New Year and New Moon.  By truly focusing on yourself and the things you want to leave behind in this Year and Moon, you will start to make room for the amazing opportunities to come in the New Year.

Moon in Cancer


Major characteristics of Moon in Cancer include issues related to domestic life, growth, nurturing, and emotions.  In relating these characteristics to the chakra system, I would suggest much energy work related to the lower chakras (base, sacral, solar plexus) and heart during this time.

As issues related to domestic life, specifically family, correlate with the base chakra, Moon in Cancer may be the best time to get back in touch with your family roots.  With Christmas occurring on this Full Moon everyone has an opportunity to reconnect with their roots whether it be in person, by phone, or through mail or e-mail.  If you have past issues with family or do not have roots to connect with, remember that roots can be formed with friends, co-workers, teammates, neighbors, communities.  Family does not necessarily mean blood relative.

I must note that under Moon in Cancer emotions are heightened, especially in relationships.  Therefore, I might suggest grounding and getting in tune with your feelings prior to interacting with others, especially if there is a history of turmoil.

Full Moon in Cancer is largely characterized by issues related to domestic life, femininity, and motherhood.   Now is the time to promote security, comfort, and stability in the home, as well as cleanliness in both the home and in the individual.  By cleaning your home and yourself of things that have no purpose or use you are clearing the energy for new things to enter your life and being.  The physical body affected by Moon in Cancer is the chest and stomach, therefore conscious eating is recommended during this time  

Now is an ideal time to make moves on your intentions and to be more compassionate.

My suggestions for this Moon:

Start grounding now.  I mean right now.  Stop what you are doing and take a few minutes to take your shoes off wherever you are and feel the connection of your feet to the floor.  Become consciously aware of your body, of your feelings, of your environment.  By doing this you are able to be guided by your own energy field while avoiding the leaking energy fields of others.  As an empathic energy worker, one of the most important parts of my entire existence is grounding.  Without grounding I would be like a floating balloon in the sky with fireworks ready to ignite.  With grounding I can think and act like a level headed individual with my feet on the ground.  

Don’t forget your stones.  Like I mentioned before, smoky quartz, black tourmaline, hematite, snowflake obsidian, black obsidian...the list can go on and on.  The healing benefits of crystals and stones are ANCIENT and AFFORDABLE!  In particular the stones mentioned above have powerful properties that help to stay and feel grounded.  I will have future posts outlining the healing benefits of crystals generally and specifically.


Connect with yourself before you connect with others.  If you are feeling irritable and unstable, take a few minutes by yourself to release anything burdensome.  The accumulation of stress may seem tolerable now, but once you are in the company of others it will pour over in front of an audience.  

Excuse yourself as often as you need.
